Social media by you for you.

Hivrr is a community-owned, mobile-first social platform. No ads, no data sales, no engagement-baiting algorithms. Communities are called Hives. Storage is called Pollen. The Hive belongs to the people in it. We're building it carefully — drop your email and we'll let you know when there's something worth your time.

The lexicon

Words that earn their keep.

Hivrr's vocabulary is borrowed from the bees — because the bees got there first, and because the metaphor pulls its weight. Three of the load-bearing ones:

A community
Hive

A place for a group of people. Public or private (join by code or QR). Has channels, members, and content warnings shown up front — no fine print.

Your feed lens
Comb

A user-owned filtered view across the Hives you belong to. Combs hold include/exclude rules. You decide what to sweeten the feed with — not us.

Paid storage
Pollen

The only thing you pay for. Pollen covers storage and hosting, transparently priced. Can be gifted into a Hive's quota. We take no cut beyond costs.

What we won't do

It's just as important to name what we refuse.

These aren't taboo topics in marketing — they're the spine of the brand. Every product decision passes through them.

  • ✕ No ads

No ad-supported tier. No "ethical ads." No sponsored Hives. Not ever.

  • ✕ No data sales

User data is not for sale, training, brokering, or "analytics partners." It stays where you put it.

  • ✕ No attention economy

Engagement metrics belong to the people who made the thing — never to an algorithm tuning a feed.

  • ✕ No infinite scale

We'd rather be a small thing that matters than a bigger thing that doesn't.

How we keep the lights on

Two costs. Both transparent.

If we won't take ad money or sell data, the obvious question is: how do you make money? Right now — nothing. When the platform ships, two things, named clearly, paid directly.

Platform subscription
Today, during build
$0 · free for all
When 1.0 ships
$12/ year

Yearly access fee. Covers the core platform — moderation tooling, security, the small team keeping it running. One flat number, no tiers, no "Pro," no upsells.

Pollen · storage
Today, during build
$0 · generous test quota
When 1.0 ships
metered· per GB

You pay for what you store. Transparent per-GB pricing pegged to actual hosting costs — no markup. Pollen is gift-able, so a Queen Bee can cover a whole Hive's quota if they want.

Our promise

We'll write a long time before any dollar starts moving. Existing Hives keep their content whatever you decide — stay, leave, migrate to a self-hosted Garden. The price isn't a trap; it's the cost of running a thing that isn't an ad-funded engagement machine.

The mission, in one breath

Recapture ownership of social media.

Said another way · the user is not the product · the Hive is · and the Hive belongs to the people

Drop your email. We'll write when it matters.

You'll hear from us twice: once when private beta opens, once when the app is in public hands. That's it.
